== Origins and Historical Context == Gokkun began gaining traction in Japan during the 1980s and 1990s, a time when the AV industry was rapidly expanding and diversifying. Japan’s strict censorship laws prohibited the explicit depiction of genitals, leading filmmakers to explore new forms of visual and thematic extremity. In this context, semen became a major visual symbol — not pixelated, taboo, and yet deeply tied to male sexuality. Studios such as Soft On Demand (SOD), Waap Entertainment, and Moodyz pioneered early Gokkun titles. These often featured AV idols who were marketed as “Swallow Queens,” turning the act into a point of fame or notoriety. By the early 2000s, “Gokkun 100,” “Semen Party,” and “Drink Up Girls” became underground hits, reinforcing the genre’s identity.
